Synopsis: From creative genius Tim Burton (“Alice in Wonderland,” The Nightmare Before Christmas”) comes “Frankenweenie,” a heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life–with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new “leash on life” can be monstrous.

Steve’s Thoughts: What’s not to look forward to? I’ve always been a big fan of Burton’s Frankenweenie short, and well, since he’s Tim Burton he has the right to make it a feature film. From the trailer, it seems they’ve built the story out enough to warrant a full run time. A screenplay by John August, and the voice talents of Burton alumni Catherine O’Hara, Winona Ryder, Martin Landau, Christopher Lee and Martin Short make me very excited. Oh, and how could I not mention the black-and-white stop motion animation? Gorgeous!
